Research has proven that physical touch, especially massage, is a powerful tool for anyone who cares for a baby.  Not only is it a lovely way to be together, but it also strengthens a baby's immune system, stimulates growth hormones, and releases opiates that suffuse a child with good feelings.  It also helps sick babies get well quicker and stressed babies calm down.
