More and more schools are recognizing that children have the capacity to learn at a much earlier age than 5 years. Programs that are targeted to 4 year olds, such as state funded preschools and Transitional Kindergarten or TK, are being implemented to take advantage of early learning opportunities. As your child’s first teacher, you alone have the most intimate knowledge about whether a formal early learning program will be beneficial for your children. Regardless if they are enrolled in a formal program, you are still and always will be their 1st teacher. This area of our support and resources will concentrate on preparing your child for a Preschool, Transition Kindergarten or Kindergarten. Preschool age children are much more interactive with peers, other adults, and work well in groups. They learn to share, to cooperate, to communicate their feelings and to begin to problem solve.
